ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
With her first appearance on the music scene, Christian contemporary artist Makiah Rea displays great promise. While declaring her Christian faith, she showcases her musical talent by delivering catchy music with down-to-earth lyrics that reach out to the listener.

"To me music has always been a way to connect to God and people. Whether performing a hymn, listening to the radio, or sharing my own songs, music has always been about the story behind the song. In my music, I try to reflect the reality of the search for answers that we all go through in life, yet always come back to the place of complete surrender and awe of who God is and how He is working."

Her album starts off with powerful vocals expressing gratitude and humility in “El Shaddai.” Similarly, her upbeat, conversational song “For My Soul” exhibits the fulfillment found in Christ. However, her song “If and Why” explores the deep feelings of doubt and insecurity, we experience yet ultimately affirms hope. She also brings her own artistic style and energy to the classic hymn “This is My Father’s World.” The album ends with two sentimental ballads “Safe in Your Arms” and “You Alone.” Overall, Where To Begin displays Makiah Rea’s artistic versatility and lyrical depth.
