"Everything Is Golden" is a guitar-based combination of Surf/Spy/Spaghetti Western music, influenced by surf/instro pioneers such as Duane Eddy, Jack Nitzsche, Dick Dale, and newer bands The Surf Coasters, Laika & The Cosmonauts and The Tremolo Beer Gut. There's also a little John Barry (composer for the classic Bond films) feel thrown in the mix, as well as a surf rock arrangement of Ennio Morricone's classic Once Upon A Time In The West theme. These latter two influences help lend the album a cinematic appeal that ties it in nicely with the debut release, "Zombie Pimp Cowboys From Outer Space!".
What the critics are saying...
“Everything Is Golden is a tasty blend of surf, spy and spaghetti western music.”
Alan Taylor - Pipeline Instrumental Review
“Everything Is Golden is a very solid release. This is surf and instrumental rock that you can truly listen to and let your mind wander. All-in-all an entertaining disc that should appeal to a wide audience.”
Sean Berry - The Continental Magazine
“The Man From RavCon has excelled at conjuring up a number of instrumental surf-rock influences—from Italian film composer Ennio Morricone, to funk / soundtrack wizard Isaac Hayes to a better known sound evoking more well established instrumental rock legends like Duane Eddy, The Shadows, John Barry and more recently Finnish surf rockers Laika & The Cosmonauts.”
