ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Australian guitarist Marc Ongley took up the guitar in 1965 aged 13. He began as a rock musician and by the age of 18 he had supported Australia's top 60's acts like Max Merrot and the Easy Beats. Marc also supported big international acts such as the Kinks and the Beach Boys. By the time Marc was 18 he had had enough of rock & roll and decided to take up the classical guitar. 11 years later he had already appeared on ABC radio and national television as a classical guitarist and this culminated in his international concert debut in 1982 at London's famed Wigmore Hall. In the 80's Marc also took up jazz guitar recording and performing with Australia's legendary jazz guitarist, George Golla in 1988. Marc moved to London permanently in 1991 and since then he has recorded 8 CD albums and published 6 tuition books. Marc's debut jazz album was recorded live at the world famous Abbey Road studios on April 24 1993. This Cd was well received and is favourably reviewed in the 'Penquin Guide To Jazz'. Marc began composing music in 1973 and he has written numerous pieces for guitar as well as works for piano, orchestra and jazz quartet. These international digital releases are just the beginning of making Marc's music available to a wider audience. Marc has written so much music that it will take him sometime indeed to make it all available to the public.
