ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
I am very proud to release this live dvd , and myself and the sound engineer Gavan Eckhart have been instrumental in every step of the process , from recording the gig , to mixing , editing and authoring the dvd . Though i am as happy with the studio album "Language 12" , i think this concert captures more the spirit of the music , with 2 emotional dedications to two legends of the South African music scene who have passed . Conceptually , the music is moving forward , away from the more traditional South African sound , while not forgetting where it came from . Hopefully , this is something new and fresh , from a country rich in musical tradition and heritage . Language 12 features some of the country's finest and most creative musicians , all of whom inspire me to do what i do . The band cooks , and they get stuck into the music like there's no tomorrow . So thank you Mel , Siya , Carlo , Juan-Pierre , Clement and Gavan for giving your all to this project over the last 2 years .
