Through her beloved late Dad's influence, Maria Carmi (Car' mee) grew up loving to sing. Her Dad had a resonant, soothing voice and had sung in a group on radio as a young man. Maria also remembers trying to imitate Julie Andrews as a child and then Barbra Streisand later on. She began writing music as a teenager and afterward studied voice.
While at violinist Shoji Tabuchi's show in Branson, Missouri, Maria felt a burning call from God to pursue her musical dreams. She began a happy association with Frank Fara and Patty Parker of Comstock Records, an independent label. They helped her to get started in country music and remain good friends. Patty produced various singles for Maria in Nashville at Chelsea Recording Studio, and Frank promoted the music. He focused on Europe, parts of the US, and later Australia.
One of Maria's recent song-writing projects is her Christian and country album Thank You LORD Jesus (Tate Music Group). It reflects both her commitment to The LORD Jesus Christ
