An accomplished singer and actress, Maria Howell, has most recently been seen in the film "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire", and the ABC TV series "Revolution". She first gained the national spotlight in the Steven Speilberg film, "The Color Purple", where she was the featured choir soloist in the film's climatic scene. She will also appear in the major motion picture, "Addiction", scheduled for late 2014 release.
A dynamic vocalist, she has opened for the late Ray Charles, and performed with the likes of Nancy Wilson, George Benson and Jeffrey Osborne. She has starred in TV's "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles", on stage in Langston Hughes' "Tambourines to Glory", and in the film "The Blind Side".
She has released several CD's, all available through her website. Also, working with Charlotte, NC writer/producer Bill Bradford, she has released a number of singles, including "What Does Christmas Mean To You", which was awarded a Billboard Magazine Holiday Single Pick.
Having toured and lived in Japan she now resides in Atlanta, Ga. where she performs regularly.
