ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Collaboratively produced with 2002 OMA nominee, Paul Sinclair (The BootLICKERS; The Badlees)...showcasing his musical versatility aligned with Marie\'s Vision, as well as the percussive talents of Pat Joe Walsh, Aeglechylde: Daughter of the Sun is Marie\'s independently released debut CD, consisting of a compilation of 13 songs. This album received HONORABLE MENTION STATUS for 4 SONGS from BILLBOARD MUSIC MAGAZINE\'S INTERNATIONAL SONGWRITING CONTEST: THE GHOSTS OF NEW YORK CITY; JOB\'S CHILD; THE PROZAC SONG; WHEN WILL YOU EVER LEARN? (see review http://www.therising.com). The album and artist received a five star review from DAKOTA SMITH of VOICES Magazine; THE TIMES LEADER, a Pennsylvania based Publication as well. All performances feature a special CD signing and meet and greet with Marie Gray. Gray has opened for \"THE DRIFTERS\" at a benefit to promote teen suicide awareness, sponsored by the AFSP on Sept. 19, 2003, in her duo \"GIRLZWITHISSUES\" venue, featuring LIZ PASCAL and for KIM CHAR MEREDITH and ROBERT URBAN on in AUGUST, 2003, at NYC\'s \"MEOW MIX.\" Her performances have been described as \"captivating,\" through the depth of her lyrics and strength exhibited through her unique percussive guitar style, vocal range and abilities. GIRLZWITHISSUES performed at TAKE BACK THE NIGHT,2005,2006 to benefit survivors of Domestic Violence.

Marie Gray\'s music makes its mark for women musicians and composers through its intensity and association to survivorship by raising issues of consciousness and delves down to the depths of her own soul and pain... to a cathartic orientation of healing that reaches those who listen and have followed her artistic growth through the years.

Marie Gray continues to perform live, sharing her music and words with a steadily growing audience consisting of dedicated lovers of her lyrical content and style.Gray returned to the scene as a soloist in 2006 and continues to perform private and benefit venues which include Rainbow Alliance, Summer Soire, July, 2006; Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pride 2006; an impromptu performance amidst other performers on RFAMILY Vacation\'s Summer cruise 2008. Joined by Dawn Hauser on Drums and Percussion in 2006 for the Pride Performance, the two have re-united as \"Against the Grain\" for Inaugural Wilkes-Barre/Scranton PrideFest, August 10th 2008. \"Against the Grain:\" Dawn and Marie plan on taking it on the road again, performing in coffeehouses, pubs, bookstores, private parties and benefits.

Feel the hot, soulful, empowering and enigmatic music captures your soul through both \"Pearl\" and \"Ebony\": Dueling sounds of twin Takamine 12 string power that will rock your world, capture your soul and gravitate with grace and style.

inspirational, enigmatic, soul of rock
This lyrical and melodious music resonates with the soul of rock. Enigmatic and enchanting, this CD takes you to places in your mind, body and spirit that is forbidden in every day life. Take time to journey with spirited sound.

She will draw you in, ready or not
This CD moves quickly from uncertainty to profound intensity. Gray's appeal develops with an understated approach to songwriting, evidenced in only one other comparable, Kristofferson. She will draw you in, ready or not. Job's Child, The Ghost of New York City, Sweating in the Night--create and fill a void at the same time. Subtlety soul-stirring. Regrets? Only that I didn't listen sooner.
