The Price of Art

by Mark Gardner

Perhaps a piano is merely metal wire stretched over wood, yet somehow Mark Gardner massages and hammers the spirit and soul of existence out of steel, copper, oak and ash.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"The Price of Art" is POWERFUL ALL ORIGINAL PIANO. Track after track demonstates the technical and emotional punch Mark Gardner uniquely provides.

Mark is a rebel. Although classically trained at such prestigious music centers as North Texas State University, Cedar Valley College, and University of Texas, he ran away to California and joined the rock band "Traveler," playing keyboards at some of L.A.'s hottest underground clubs. Unsatisfied, he returned to the medium that is his own, powerful solo piano.

Mark demonstrates that classical piano as an art form is alive. Selections from Mark's first and homegrown CD, "Original Piano" were featured on major classical stations in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego.

This CD represents his first work created in a truly professional environment. Ed Woolley, Recording Engineer at Firehouse Studios, was able to capture the true essence of Mark's rambunctious playing. Capitol Studios provided the venerable ears of Ron McMaster to control the final mix. Capital also utilized their world-renowned underground catacomb echo chambers to provide a rich resonance not available to most in this digital world.

Mark's music is addictive and enriching.

Excellent CD! Highly Recommended!
This was a big surprise. Who IS this guy? The piano was amazing, and the songs were very well put together. The more I hear it the more I like it.

Awesome CD!
After repeated listenings, I must give "The Price of Art" 5 stars, and thus a rating if "Awesome!" The piano is both slow and fast, soft and loud, and it grows on you. I hope I can find more music on CD Baby like this.
