The Minneapolis Star & Tribune named Fuzzy Math runner-up in its 2012 "Best of Minnesota" list under the category "Jazz act for people bored with jazz."
Larry Englund of KFAI writes: "Pianist/composer Mark Vandermyde has created a great little CD entitled Fuzzy Math, featuring original, contemporary material that swings quite nicely, with traces of Latin and world music. He'll be accompanied by Jason Parvey, sax; Matt Peterson, bass; and Harald Bondaris, drums. If you're up for a late night show, this will be the place to be."
Mark writes: "Thanks to my wife Stacie for patiently indulging my 'permanent hobby', and to my kids Max, Isaac, Audrey and Mira, who can make finding time to play a challenge but whose inspiration somehow makes writing easier. I've dedicated a tune on this album to each of them (and one to the boys' hamster). Thanks also to the wonderfully talented and intuitive musicians whose mind-reading abilities made this project much easier, to Matthew Zimmerman for giving it an extra coat of polish, and to Erik Johnson whose artwork was way cooler than what I had pictured. Oh yeah and to my parents for paying for all those lessons."
