Album Notes
Mary Jane Dingledy is the soprano soloist for St. John's Episcopal Church in Park Slope, Brooklyn, where she has performed many solos such as Faure's Pie Jesu, Gounod's O Divine Redeemer and Rejoice from Handel's Messiah. In addition she has sung operatic roles which include Mama Lucia in Cavalleria Rusticana, Mallika in Lakme, Marcellina in The Marriage of Figaro, the Sandman in Hansel and Gretel, Lay Sister and Touriere in Suor Angelica, and Rachel Stitcher in A.F.R.A.I.D. a feminist opera based on the lives of women in the 19th century. Her non-operatic performances include church soloist in Moby Dick the Sermon at the Greenwood Cemetery Chapel and performances in Germany of Bach cantatas and English Elizabethan songs in the churches at Neunkirchen and Dilsberg. Mary Jane studies voice in Manhattan and and is a graduate of Empire State College and the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School.
