Matt Chapel had the privilege of serving his country as a member of the Armed Forces for over 13 years. Life could not have predicted that his journey would have him making his home in Nashville, TN chasing his lifelong dream of becoming a country music artist. However, there were signs that would eventually point in that direction. There were years worth of poems and lyrics overflowing from weathered and worn binders kept in a box in a closet patiently waiting to be called once again to the campfire. Around that very same campfire one late Friday night, Matt made his decision to make the dream real. Upon separation from the Military, Matt broke camp and landed in Music City USA.
Matt's new home and new life seemed taylor made for him and well suited for a little Dream Chasing. Since arriving in Nashville, Matt Chapel has joined forces with Whiskey Run. One of the hottest new bands in Nashville, Matt Chapel & Whiskey Run now play all over the Southeast, most recently kicking off a show for hot country newcomer Colt Ford.
Matt has co-written songs with many talented writers and generated a great deal of interest. Among those writers are Tammy Cochran, Jamie Grooms, Alex Duley, Gary Nichols and many others. With songs about the roots of country, Matt Chapel's rich vocal and quiet good looks put him close to the top of list of newcomers. With songs like "Daddy's Shoes" (chapel/grooms) and "Southern Alabama" (chapel) not to mention the crowd pleasing "Reason to Complain" (chapel/nichols), Matt Chapel & Whiskey Run can relate to anyone in the room.
This homegrown country boy from Alabama, turned Soldier, turned Nashville Musician is here to stay and Whiskey Run is well worth the price of admission. Don't miss an opportunity to catch this exciting new country band on the rise.
