ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes

Matt Negele is a 2012 graduate from the University of Phoenix with a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. During his student teaching at King Liholiho Elementary School, he attended a seminar by Dr. Costa and was asked to create a song to teach the 16 Habits of Mind. Matt is a singer/songwriter living on the island of Oahu, and enjoys surfing, and recording as an artist at Harrison Passion Studios. He is a prolific songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, music teacher, and surfer.

All instrumentation and vocals are performed by Matt, who tried to represent the islands with a blend of ukulele, guitars, and soothing harmonies. The song has been performed by Liholiho Elementary Schools 5th grade class at several assemblies, and will be performed at Dr. Costa’s June 1st International Habits of Mind Conference. The success of the song can be demonstrated by students at King Liholiho who sing the song on their own accord throughout the school day.
