Finally a new approach to traditional Klezmer, a fusion between the authenticity of the ancient klezmorim and the modernity of the third millennium.
Those wonderful melodies are arrangements of original and traditional tunes as well by Felix Teplov, Israeli musicologist and clarinet player, born in Odessa, Eastern Europe where klezmer began to flourish 300 years ago.
Each one of those tunes are musical gems aimed to lead you to an intense climax thanks to the luminous musical progression and the superb interpretation of Maxim Solniker.
Student of the Maestro Giora Feidman, Maxim Solniker, a truly gifted musician is the representative of the new klezmer generation, the proof that the tradition is strong and that the klezmer is universal.
This young artist manage to restore the soul and the spirit of his ancestors while providing a touch of freshness, modernity and genuine creativity.
Thanks to Maxim Solniker, the klezmer and Yiddish soul dove in the fountain of youth.
Daniel Kraizer, composer and arranger is accompanying Maxim's clarinet on keyboard and guitar. There is a true chemistry between the two musicians that provides a rich and high-energy musical experience. He plays brilliantly the Spanish guitar solos which intertwine beautifully with the Eastern-European Klezmer melodies, a mix of Andalucia and Moldova.
Nava Aminoff, guest soloist plays the "Hasidic Medley 1" adding feminine touch and subtle sensibility, journeying from deep sorrow to bursts of joy.
Buoyant freylakhs, inspiring prayers, dances and cadenzas, the clarinet of Maxim Solniker never rests, always moving us from deep meditation to brilliant and virtuoso blast of enthusiasm.
Listening to his music is beyond space and time, it is like being caught in a maelstrom, a moment of pure pleasure, joy and jubilation.
Hassidic, Moldova, Kolomeyka, Odessa, are like magical words, just sit back and be carried along by this turmoil of sounds, allow the soul of the klezmer tradition invade your body, let your thoughts wander to outer space, just sit back and listen...
