Album Notes
Mary Beth Carlson Introduction

Mary Beth Carlson is a composer, performing and recording artist and former Teacher of the Year. She was the lead pianist at Nordstrom Mall of America for nearly fifteen years, and for most of those years, manager of the department of pianists. Mary Beth performs nationally as a pianist and speaker for a wide variety of special events. Much of her original music has been composed in honor of her daughter Jody, who was born with cerebral palsy and autism. She has written and performed music specifically for the International Special Olympics, Arc, Children's Cancer Research Fund, and the Alzheimer's Association.
Fortunate to have opportunities to perform for a variety of distinguished audiences, she was particularly honored to have been invited by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association to present a concert of restoration to guests from forty countries at The Cove in Asheville, North Carolina. Decision Today, Dr. Graham's nationally syndicated radio program, interviewed her as their featured guest. She’s been invited to participate in disabilities outreach conferences with Joni Eareckson Tada, internationally renowned author, artist and speaker and also performed in concert with Joni at Bethel College in St. Paul, MN. Most recently Mary Beth was interviewed on KTIS Radio in St. Paul, MN for a five day series about her faith story for the Her Journey radio program.
Mary Beth’s piano orchestral arrangements have been featured on several recordings with internationally recognized artists including Sandi Patty, Darlene Zschech, Sheila Walsh, Kelly Willard, Steve Hall, J.D. Steele, Don Moen (“Christmas Worship”) and others.
Mary Beth has produced and recorded eighteen albums of piano orchestral music which are distributed by MBC Productions and also some titles by Integrity Music. Her most recent release is This Day ... A Celebration of Love. Visit Mary Beth at

truly moving music
Very moving music! Not just another artist playing piano. It has that extra something, that soul which makes one play it over and over again.

A Beautiful Collection of Favorite Melodies!!!
"A Bridge Over Time" is a beautiful collection of songs which have become favorite melodies for people across many generations. From George Gershwin's "Someone to Watch Over Me" to "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" from The Lion King, these inspired arrangements bridge eight decades. The magic of Mary Beth Carlson on the piano leads the elegant piano orchestrations that include performances by world-class musicians on the oboe, flute, English horn, harp, cello, soprano sax, and guitar.

Other favorites of mine on the CD include "Feather Theme" from Forest Gump, "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes", and "The Long And Winding Road". While most of the songs on the CD may be very well known, Mary Beth's original arrangements maintain the beauty of the original song while at the same time making it sound new and fresh.

Two original compositions by Mary Beth are also featured on the CD --- "A Bridge Over Time" and "Canon In D / Rings Of Love". I especially enjoy "Canon In D / Rings Of Love". The beauty of the song will have you playing it over and over again!!!

For anyone who enjoys the music of piano orchestrations, you are sure to enjoy the beauty of Mary Beth's music on this CD.
