ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Memories to treasure forever... Hanalei, Kauai... Embraced by sunset's colorful flow, warm tropical breezes, soothing ocean surf, and sweet Hawaiian slack key guitar and ukulele... A touch of heaven in Hanalei.

Old style slack key instrumentals featuring a ki ho'alu version of Puff the Magic Dragon (you can see the namesake land formation on the back of the CD), a slack key guitar duet, and a very special song (and new tuning) from the Hanalei River and it's beautiful hau tree flower blossoms.

Audience and listener comments:
"Sharing sunsets and listening to your music brought me as close to heaven as I can get and still be here."

"Absolutely heavenly. The sun wouldn't go to bed without your sweet serenade."

"Soothes my soul and brings me back to Hawaii every time I listen."

"We pop it in the CD player and put it on repeat. It plays for hours while we work."

Soft, magical, and sweet, ki ho'alu (slack key) acoustic guitar, was created and evolved by the people of Hawaii in the 1800's. In ki ho'alu music, the hands enter into a beautiful and intricate dance through which the essences of the mystical islands of Hawaii are expressed. Experience old Hawaii and the aloha spirit through Hawaii's own music.

Hanohano ka ki ho`alu
This is beautiful slack key music played in the old time way -- pure and sweet. Good enough to give chicken skin. It is very hard to find any type of Hawaiian music in Cleveland, OH and we are so fortunate to have found your music on the web. Mahalo and Malama Pono.

Restful, beautiful
Every time I listen to this beautiful, relaxing CD, I return to Hanalei, at least in my mind.

True Hawaiian folk music
Not just an album of beautiful slack-key and ukelele, not just a reminder of sunset in paradise, but also an exceptional collection of authentic music performed by artists whose passion is to share and keep alive the Hawaiian folk tradition.
