Album Notes
This is harp music in combo platter fashion, all with the moon in mind. "Notes on the Moon" is a collection of music that wasn't necessarily intended for harp solo-- Classical, Romantic, Jazz, Pop, Folk, and Contemporary genres from around the globe. The only thing that unites them is that each piece has the word "moon" in their title.

Megan Metheney is a world class harpist from the USA. Coming from a classical training but always tending to push the envelope, she has taken the instrument of the harp and truly created a sound and style of her own, making her music authentic and meaningful.

This album was recorded after the success of several "moon concerts" in France, the first of which was held in a quaint village in open air with a view of the sea and the full moon in 2006. "Notes on the Moon" also presents the world premiere of American composer Douglas Gibson's latest work for solo harp: "In the Shadow of the Moonlight."

Released in 2007. Recorded and mixed by Pap Gergö and Michael Payne at Hirado Studio, Budapest, Hungary. Mastered by Ivan Folk at Zafir Studio, Budapest, Hungary.

Excellent renditions of moon songs on the perfect instrument for this eclectic selection.
