"If you’ve been wondering where that delicious swingy jazz-pop sound has gone from music, Melon & The Mayhem have kidnapped it, raised it along with some classic rock sounds, and made it entirely their own. The 5 piece Nashville band is made up of the classy and sassy Mary Ellen Klein on vocals and piano with Ryan Swinehart (saxophone), Tim Provence (drums) ... [bass, and lead guitar] backing her up and providing a sound that is reminiscent to both early jazz and modern pop.
On certain tracks, you can hear Klein occasionally challenging vocals like Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes on rock ‘n roll tracks and like Zooey Deschanel of She & Him on the softer tracks. These influences take nothing away from the band though: they are a refreshing, original addition to music—they just have the talents of the greats." -Savannah Davanzo, BuzzArtist
