The Mermaid Kiss Album is a collaboration of vocalist Evelyn Downing and guitarist Jamie Field, together with keyboard/bassist Andrew Garman. Based in Kington, UK, they write and produce high quality, original music, which transcends ambient, acoustic, singer songwriter, progressive and rock. Songs vary from the compelling atmosphere of temptation on the track 'Mermaid Kiss' through the hypnotically beautiful 'Write My Name In Stars' to the majestic anthem 'Blind' with its layers of electric guitars and vocal harmonies and from the disturbingly scary 'Soundchaser' to the deeply evocative and catchy rock song 'Like Water'. The subtle use of flute, percussion and atmospheric soundscapes supporting great songwriting makes this album impossible to catagorise. It simply has to be heard.
During 2003, Mermaid Kiss were No.1 for twelve weeks at IntoMusic.co.uk - one of the UK's foremost mp3 sites.
