Singer/songwriter Mia Sable writes music and lyrics, and plays guitar and piano. Those with an affinity for lyrics, particularly of the female variety, will find that Sable’s dark poetic pop is satisfying in two ways that aren’t often experienced together. She combines intellectuality and emotionally complex ideas with pop structures and catchy melodies.
So far Sable has performed in Los Angeles, New York City, London, at Sundance Film Festival, at SXSW in Austin, TX, and will be at NXNE in Toronto, Canada in June. She is Los Angeles Music Awards’ “Alternative Female Vocalist of the Year 2007” and “Indie Female Singer-Songwriter of the Year 2006”. Sable was also nominated for 2 South Bay Music Awards 2007, including “Female Vocalist of the Year” and “Pop Artist of the Year”, and a semi-finalist for KIAC’s “Indie Song of the Year 2008”.
Performances in Los Angeles include reoccurring shows at Hotel Cafe, Tangier, Genghis Cohen, Temple Bar, UCLA & USC. Favorite New York venues are Pianos, and The Living Room, and in London - The Slaughtered Lamb.
