ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Michael Beese performed this version of the Star Spangled Banner on his Zeta custom made solid body electric violin. This version of the national anthem is heavily influenced by rock guitarists like Jimi Hendrix and Eddie Van Halen. This live performance was recorded at the Hotel Utah Open Mic on June 25, 2012. If you like Michael Beese's music check out Echo Fugue available on iTunes, CDBaby and all your favorite purveyors of fine sounding ones and zeroes.

Every time Michael Beese performs his version of the national anthem he gets a warm response from the audience as can be heard on the track. Michael uses a Line6 PodXT to get his electric guitar sound and he plays it straight into the house mixing board at the Hotel Utah. This recording was edited down from a six minute long recording of the entire set.

The album cover art shows a psychedelic depiction of the electric violin that was used in the performance. The body of the violin was hand crafted by Dan Ransom for Zeta in 1984 and it was designed to look like a 1959 Fender Stratocaster electric guitar.
