ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Stars and Stripes Forever was composed on Christmas Day, 1896. John Philip Sousa composed the march in his head, then committed notes to paper. It was first performed close to Philadelphia, at Willow Grove Park, on May 14, 1897. The march and was immediately successful. Stars and Stripes Forever is widely considered to be the most popular piece by Mr. Sousa. The U.S. Congress (through and Act) made the piece the official National March of the United States of America.

I wanted to update the famous Star and Stripes Forever march and make it a little more contemporary, yet leave the spirit of the piece intact.
