ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
THE MUSIC:

Too lounge to be dance, too dance to be jazz, too jazz to be electronic, too electronic to be trip hop... Well, needless to say, Michiko has cooked up her own recipe but we'll let you decide the flavour...

THE ARTIST:

If you were to mix the blood of German & Japanese parents, raise the child in Sydney, give her a piano at the age of 6, singing lessons from the age of 16. With 2 CDs full of self-written & recorded material under her belt, move her to Germany where you train her in Studio Sound & Recording techniques, introduce her to jazz and then give her a plane ticket to London, what you would get is Michiko today.

MICHIKO sings, writes, records & mixes all her own material. Her long awaited debut album "Daydreamer" is a result of 3 years hard work and absolutely EVERYTHING has been done by the artist herself (yes everything!).

Musical Wunderkind
Absolutely mesmerizing. The first time I heard "Feels So Nice" on Pandora, I was so moved by its bewitching, seductive, gorgeous beauty. The lyrics and instrumentals are superb, and the production values, the arrangement as well as the recording quality are all stellar. The fact that Michiko did everything to produce this wonderful album makes her a musical force of nature.

Such a fine debut
“such a fine debut… insanely well written” Calmscape, the Chillout Lounge.

Jazzy & Cool
“This Londoner's compelling electro-pop has a transnational flair reflective of her cross-cultural upbringing. Informed that Michiko has roots in Australia, Japan, Germany and the UK, you'll hear scraps of each in her songs: a Kylie Minogue ingénue quality, a camp-jazz varnish, crisp synths, and a cool trip-hop feel.” Editor /Download.com......... “jazzy and cool, the lead vocal coming off a sophisticated swoon….Michiko’s proves her mastery of the song craft…compelling” Reviewer, CollectedSounds.com

AMAZING WORK
Truly one of the hottest albums I have heard in this genre. Combining smooth beats with a voice that is very warm, this album is great for just laying back and relaxing.
