ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Prolific, poetic, innovative and passionate Mic Marlow projects through his music the feelings of pain, joy and most importantly truth My style is my own. There is no father to my style. says Mic Marlow . However, Ive had a lot of inspiration. Mics influences include legendary artists such as Tupac, IMMORTAL TECH, NAS, CANIBUS, EMENIM, SCARFACE, JAY-Z, BROTHA LYNCH, OUTKAST, E40, Dead Prez, ICECUBE, and Kanye West. But the biggest influence behind his drive and passion are his life struggles and the never-ending journey to express a divine message. Born in Sacramento,CA., Mic never had the easy road growing up in the ghetto. Since an early age music and writing lyrics were the only outlet for his inner most thoughts, fears, and beliefs. It has always been important for Mic to say exactly what he feels and hes not afraid to admit who he really is. Hes a man who loves hip hop and making music. A man who feels a powerful obligation to speak out truth. To him its a matter of pulling the violence, ignorance and superficial attitudes from the roots of hip hop culture, in the way he knows best, the microphone.. With nearly 15 years in the studio, Mic Marlow is no beginner in this rap game. Hes a triple threat! Mic is writer, artist, producer of his own music and hes keeping it honest with his own record label, Spit City Records. In its infancy, Spit City is the result of his business sense colliding with his talent. He is respected by many as the former undisputed ksfm 102.5 Sacramento Freestyle Battle Rap Champion and appeared on the cover of the 916 magazine (Sacs exclusive hip-hop magazine) and Ghetto Times magazine. He has performed on stages from the West Coast to the East Coast at many different venues, clubs, and talent showcases. All with a presence that demands attention. Mic has been a creative force behind many amazing collaborations including: Mainstream Entertainment Compilation album, Taylor Made Music-Street Series Mixtape VOl 1, The Moore Foundation Album. With appearances on Potency the King of Rap Mix tape out of Chicago and The Union Enterprise Compilation but his most significant collaboration was on The Million Man March One Million Strong album with his former group Black Wine which sold Gold plus. That Collaberation featured such artists as Tupac, Biggie, Snoop, Dre, Wu-tang and many more hip hop Kings. His work on so many albums has only fueled his need to take it to the next level. His debut solo album THE MIC MARLOW ALBUM is that next level. It is the product of many years of hard work and signifies his ability to stand out and seize the spotlight despite all odds. It opens with a humorous intro that sets the mood for his blue coller every man theme. His first song on the album I aint shit proves Mic Marlow is anything but your average bling-conscious, pimp saavy rapper. He speaks to all of us because he talks about real life and what he has which is just this demo in his hand. He describes feelings of inadequacy and the hope to get ahead of the game and become more then just an average guy working his 9-5. The real truth that most rappers try to sugar coat with glitz and glamour, Hoes and money. The album takes you on a roller coaster ride into the colorful world of Mic Marlow. It paints a picture of his many sides from his ability to step out as a teacher and voice of the political, civil and racial struggles people face in this country in Digital Revolution to his heartfelt message of love lost in Ex-Girlfriend. A song that the ladies feel and the men can knod there heads too. He brings a tribal beat in his song Outrageous (Go Dumb) that represents Northern Cali and gets you goin stupid with his amazing ability to drop lyrics on point. This album takes twists and turns giving you a feast of delicious variety, mixed with diverse beats and meaningful, fun and witty lyrics. The MIC MARLOW ALBUM is sure to get you fired up and-inspired. From his catchy lyrics to his unique voice and originality Mic Marlow proves he has a gift that needs to be shared with the world. I am Gods instrument, Mic says blessed to play his tune.......SUPPORT REAL SHIT
