You can see him often performing at major venues and festivals, recently including Allstate Arena, Chicago Blues Fest, Milwaukee Summerfest, WI State Fair, Valparaiso Jazz Festival, and Ozark's Music Festival to name a few. A Jazz Performance major at Columbia College Chicago, Mike has had the pleasure to perform with many major artists including Mike Stern and Brian Culbertson. Mike was flown out to California to perform at the annual winter NAMM 2012 show in Anaheim, California. He was later asked to perform with world-renowned bassist Matthew Garrison. Mike then had the privilege to meet many respected bassists including Brian Bromberg, Doug Johns, Jeff Berlin, and Joe Sanchez. Doug Johns commented on his great phrasing and natural feel.
Mike currently has endorsements with Warwick Basses, Genz Benz Amplification, Dean Markley Strings, EBS Professional Bass Equipment, and Soulful Impressions Photography. This speaks volumes to his professionalism and the impression he has made on numerous industry professionals.
Warwick featured Mike on their home page in January 2012 as the "Highlight of the NAMM 2012 Show" at the Warwick booth. His performance was featured as "Super Nasty Bassist, Mike Zabrin" next to Bootsy Collins. In May 2012, Mike performed at the "Sound of Bass" Warwick Clinic featuring Andy Irvine. Warwick Clinician and endorser Andy Irvine says, "The first time I saw Mike Zabrin play, I was absolutely blown away. Mike Zabrin is one of the top seasoned cats in Chicago, and his high-level solo vocabulary is amazing." Mike was featured on Warwick's website the next day as one of the highlights of the clinic/master class.
