Born in 2006 on the New Jersey Shore, The Little Animal Band and their ringleader, Miss Sherri have made a rock-roarin’ stupendous sonic stampede into the family music world. Drummer Reggie, guitarist Rudy (two rockin’ doggies), bassist Bobby the Blue Bonobo, vocalists Jazzy and Classy (Girafettes), and Sherri have inspired herds of assorted little animal fans to romp, stomp and pounce to their bouncy beastly beats!
With Send Them Up, produced by Miss Sherri’s co-writer, Brian Breen (a.k.a. Rockin’ Rudy the guitarist), The Little Animal Band furthers their quest to hunt and gather the world’s greatest musical grooves, to teach and illuminate them for the next generation of little animals.
The Little Animal Band will take you on a musical safari, boarding the Rockin’ Choo Choo (featuring international guitarists/bluesmen Matt O’Ree and Chuck Lambert as the conductor). Take the train, bus, cab, or ship all over the USA in the Beatlesque Shining Bright On Me, then fly to Brazil for Under the Spell of the Samba. Join Motown-environmentalist-groovy-girl Go Go Green as she recycles stuff into musical instruments, and sail the seven seas with A Pirate Sailed the Ocean Blue, complete with our band of pirate critters playing traditional Celtic fiddles, pipes, bodhrans and whistles!
SEND THEM UP joins Miss Sherri’s five previous award-winning cd’s such as Jelly Belly Boogaloo and My Green Shoes, which have been featured in Parents Magazine, Channel 5 News NY and News One New York. The Little Animal Band has been sighted in their jangly jungle jam at the PNC Bank Arts Center (Holmdel, NJ), Queens Theater in the Park (Queens, NY), and the Count Basie Theatre (Red Bank, NJ).
According to Numa Saisselin, CEO of the Count Basie Theatre, “Sherri’s band creates a soundscape worthy of a Brian Eno or Daniel Lanois production of a David Bowie or U2 record.” Others have compared them favorably to the Imagination Movers, Dan Zanes or The Laurie Berkner Band.
