MISTER SIPPY - the better half of Mississippi. Described as "Funk-o-Billy Hill Country Blues..." A mix of foot-stomping swamp boogie and groove blues, heavily influenced by the Hill Country Bluesmen, most notably RL Burnside, Junior Kimbrough and Hound Dog Taylor.
Frontman Marshal Sayer's vocal's growl and holler over the solid boogie rhythms layed down by Brown, Gruen and Maxey. He sings of love lost and gained, about drunken nights and revenge, the bittersweet and dust, but ultimately it's Marshal's rich, toneful blues harp that propels the songs as it soars above the solid grooves and makes the hair stand up on the back of your neck.
Chicago blues tribute band they ain't!
