Album Notes
On his first release in six years, Miten delivers a heartfelt musical testament to the redeeming power of self-acceptance. Graced by Deva Premal's vocal harmonies, Miten's songs take flight, seamlessly blending male/female energy to reveal the healing balance that comes through true connection with the self.
Miten created Songs for the Inner Lover as a soundtrack for the love and life experiences we all share. Insightful lyrics and refreshingly simple, melodic arrangements examine the many faces of love: from its manifestation on the physical plane and the master-disciple relationship to longing for meaningful companionship and the inner dialogues we conduct with ourselves.
Through their long and storied musical and life partnership together, Miten and bestselling mantra singer Deva Premal have created a true heart connection with each other and thousands of adoring fans worldwide. On Songs for the Inner Lover, Miten draws from that nourishing experience to offer a truthful and universal sentiment sure to provide healing comfort to all who are touched by love--or long to be.

About Deva Premal & Miten

German-born Deva Premal is a classically-trained musician and gifted singer who grew up in an atmosphere of mantras and eastern spirituality. Her first two albums, THE ESSENCE and LOVE IS SPACE topped New Age charts and popularity polls in yoga centers all over Europe, Australia and America. Her third album, EMBRACE is enjoying similar success.

Miten, originally from Britain, began as a singer-songwriter-guitarist in the 70's, opening for such groups as Fleetwood Mac and Ry Cooder. He then discovered the power of meditation and left the world of rock 'n' roll behind. Miten has a number of albums of original songs, including STRENGTH OF A ROSE (with Deva Premal), Dance of Life and BLOWN AWAY.

Miten and Premal met at an ashram in India in 1990. While Deva Premal's name is more widely known, their partnership is deep and strong. "Miten and I have been living and playing together for 11 years," she says. "Everything we do, we do together. This is why I always say 'us' and 'we'. Our nourishment and life's work is to create spaces around the planet where the silence that follows the chant is clearly tangible. We share with others the healing power of the voice...and the bliss that it brings."

Adds Miten: "Over the past 15 years we have devoted our lives to the expression of love and gratitude through music. Our music is not intended as entertainment. The true purpose is to awaken a longing in the heart for that which is omnipresent: the experience of silence and meditation." Planetary musicians who spend their lives touring the world, Deva Premal & Miten have performed in the US, Japan, Europe, Asia, Brazil, Canada and Australia.
