ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
MJblues born in the Caribbean island of Dominica, started messing around with the guitar about 11 years old. Couldn't afford guitars in those days so my cousin and i used to make little guitars from shingles and fishing line .
My cousin Tee used to set those little strings really well and we'd jam songs from Hendrix " hey joe and Bob marley's 'catcha fire album".
These days were fun days , then i moved to the Britsh Virgin Island, Tortola and really got introduced to the Blues by just browsing for something to identify with .I always have a deep love and caring for the guitar and want to be a great guitar player.
Growing up around reggae, calypso, Cadence and other west Indian music , Blues was not what people would expect me to play but the language of the guitar in blues is a language i love to speak.
This Cd Sing your song is my first and know it wont be the last. Recorded in London at Farleys Fun Factory .I hope you enjoy it and when you come to the BVI just ask for MJblues and i'll be jamming 5 nights a week ,making people happy "blending the Blues to the Caribbean.
Runaway blues --is one of my favorites because or the styling on the solo ,
Do you wanna---Kind a Swing Blues with serious Lyrics.
Long way from home -- The tourists favorite

Bring back some more memories
Saw MJ in Road Town. Wish we could have taken him back on the boat. This is the next best thing!

Highlight of our Cruise
Walking by the Bat Cave in Road Town we were literally drawn in by the power of the blues. Spent just over 5 wonderful hours there in seventh heaven entertained regally by MJ. What an entertainer, he talks of coming to London for the Olympics, if he does do not miss out!!!!

Good blues in the BVI
You never expect to be blown away by the musician playing early in the evening at a restaurant. But it was my good fortune to be in the right restaurant (Myett's on Cane Garden Bay on Tortola) on the right day. We had just arrived that day from North America and rum and conversation were flowing fast. It didn't take long for Marcus' music to find it's way into my blues soul. I left the group, pulled a chair into the center of the room and let the blues wash over me. The music and lyrics were impressive - I couldn't leave my seat. Also impressive was Marcus' stop at our table to show his appreciation for our attention at the end of his set. I will file those moments in my mind's blues highlights file and visit it often.I've purchased several copies of "MJ Blues" and distributed them to blues travelers who might, someday have the thrill of seeing him live. Thanks Marcus!
