ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Mohani Heitel presents in her latest CD, an extraordinary recording of Sri Vishnu Sahasranama, the Thousand Names of God. She sings these names, which are summarized in 108 verses in one sitting without interruption over a period of slightly more than an hour. Mohani's concern is to make people sensitive towards their spiritual development for subtle vibrations and thereby prepare the spirit for peace and happiness. To this end, she has already published numerous mantra recordings which are also used for healing.

In her search for ancient and mysterious singing, she has encountered the "Thousand Names of Vishnu" . They are mentioned again and again by people, saints and Yogi's who lived devotion and love for God and deemed it important in their lives. The Thousand Names of Vishnu "come from the Mahabharata. In the 13th Book - Anushasanaparva - the last instructions from Bhishma - those names are depicted .

The "Sri Vishnu Sahasranama" is an original and pure energy flow in word or name sequence. A man on the path of Bhakti Yoga should read books, in which the ideals of devotion are presented before the eyes. The singing and listening to the Sri Vishnu Sahasranama is one of the great works that will help develop devotion to God.

Some teachers asked their students and encouraged them to recite the verses of Shri Vishnu Sahasranama or listen to them wherever they are in this world. Even those people who had little interest in religious life, took delight in reciting these verses. With this recording Mohani Heitel want to give people the opportunity to follow this suggestion, listen to the "Thousand Names of God" to internalize and let you be conducted from this stream of spirit for a while. The performance is just voice and tanpura.
