The MoreTishans were a popular Midwest rock band from 1963 to 1968. It was a great time to be in school as every high school and college campus had live music for dances. They were memorable for vocal harmonies, long hair, driving a hearse, wearing suits or tuxedos when they played for dances, ballrooms, fairs, and clubs.
In 2008 they were inducted into the Mid-America Music Hall of Fame, and that was reason to start playing again. Hugh Kraemer and Chris Nelson are the only surviving members of the group, but they are getting help from four other musicians, Craig Hansen, Scott Schell, Ben Rosene and Chris’s sister Nancy Nelson Rowland.
“The 60’s was a time of optimism with signs of political and social change. What a great decade to be in school. It is a shame the current high school class will never be able to share the optimism and freedom that we took for granted...not to mention the live music” HUGH KRAEMER.
