Dream of a Memory

by Morningstar

Tool, Skinny Puppy, and Alice in Chains smashing and it up and tripping it out after a night of listening to Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, and King Crimson. It was a lot of fun to make and i was definitely inspired by a wide range of styles and genres.

Album Notes
I've always enjoyed music that weaves different genres of music together. Growing up in the Death and Black metal scene of North Carolina, I cut my teeth in theatrical production and sound design. My first project of this nature was scoring a sound heavy and experimental production of 448 Psychosis. Inspired by the dark electronic sound I created for the play, I hit on the moniker MorningStar. Combining my love of such artists as Dimmu Borgir, Opeth, Pantera, Excision, Rusko, Skinny Puppy, Venetian Snares and Schpongle, MorningStar presents an organic blend of gothic ambience, psychedelic progression, classical orchestrations, deep bass, world instruments, driving rythyms, and precise beats. Described by Dubstep producer D-Queue as "creative and epic,"MorningStar is a dark and introspective soundscape that ranges from pounding and shredding to trancy and meditative.
