The Mosaic Singers radiate a magnetic energy that has drawn listeners since the group's formation in 1996. Founded in 1992, music has always been an important part of Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit, but the birth of the Mosaic Singers as a concert choir took things to whole new level. With their collective voices raised in song, the Mosaic Singers shift effortlessly from classical choral pieces, to goose bump-inducing gospel and spiritual works, to compelling contemporary tunes with a uniquely instinctive style that perfectly frames every note of every song.
Nationally, Mosaic's young music and theatre artists have performed in 25 states, at The White House and The Kennedy Center. Internationally, they have represented the United States at the World Festival of Children's Theatre in Copenhagen, Denmark, performed at The Millennium Dome in London, England and participated in cultural exchanges in Dakar, Senegal and Singapore.
Having performed at a myriad of Detroit events (Final game at Tiger Stadium, Mayoral Inauguration, Super Bowl XL festivities, Presidents Obama), the Mosaic Singers have been afforded the opportunity to open for an incredible array of luminaries including Al Green, Sweet Honey in the Rock, Pete Seeger, The Tempations and Maya Angelou.
In honor of Mosaic's 20th Anniversary Season, the Mosaic Singers have crafted this very special CD. The Mosaic Singers pay pitch perfect homage to Mosaic's first 20 years, while singing the promise of countless more decades of excellence on stage...and in life.
