LYRICS TO ALL SONGS...

Seuss on the Loose

It all began so long ago
At a place called Mulberry Street
The Grinch, the Lorax and the Cat in the Hat
Were a few of the faces we’d meet

One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish
Green Eggs and Ham claimed his fame
44 books were written by him
Dr. Seuss was his chosen name

Seuss on the loose, Seuss on the loose!
Books about feet, Sneetches and moose
Put him on top with old Mother Goose
Seuss on the loose! (Whoo!)
Seuss on the loose! (Whoo!)

His artwork was interesting, funny and strange
The stories he told were often insane!
We really enjoy them and hope you do too
After one hundred years Dr. Seuss still rules!

Bernie the Bubble Breathing Dragon

Bernie wasn’t like the other dragons,
She was pink, not brown or red or green
No time for dragon games
Like burning things with flames
Scaring kids and acting really mean

She never really liked to play with fire
Dragon smoke always smelled like trouble
But she really liked to laugh
And take hot soapy baths
Drinking bathtub water, blowing bubbles

OH! Bernie the bubble breathing dragon
The most amazing thing that you have ever seen
There’s no fire in her throat because she never liked to smoke
She comes to town and everyone gets clean
The most amazing thing you’ve ever seen

Then one day at her dragon school
It was time to take the fire test
When she opened her mouth
Only bubbles would come out
Although she tried and tried to do her very best

Bully dragons laughed and called her names
She flew away into the sky above
So many bubble baths
Had put her fire out at last
And she became the bubble queen we love!

OH! Bernie the bubble breathing dragon
The most amazing thing that you have ever seen
There’s no fire in her throat because she never liked to smoke
She comes to town and everyone gets clean
The most amazing thing you’ve ever seen

One hundred, two hundred, three hundred, four!
Five hundred, six hundred, seven hundred, more!
Eight hundred, nine hundred look at Bernie go!
A thousand bubbles in the sky, watch them as they sail on by!

One thousand, two thousand, three thousand, four!
Five thousand, six thousand, seven thousand, more!
Eight thousand, nine thousand look at Bernie go!
A million bubbles in the air, try to catch them if you dare!

One million, two million, three million, four!
Five million, six million, seven million, more!
Eight million, nine million look at Bernie go!
A billion bubbles in the sky, watch them as they sail on by with…

Bernie the bubble breathing dragon
The most amazing thing that you have ever seen
There’s no fire in her throat because she never liked to smoke
She comes to town and everyone gets clean
The most amazing thing you’ve ever seen
OH! Bernie the bubble breather
Oh, you just got to see her
Bernie the bubble breathing dragon

The Ants in Your Pants Dance

I’ve got a funny feeling and it’s tickling me
It feels like something’s crawling from my toes to my knees
My legs are getting itchy, is it poison ivy?
What else could it be? Could it be a flea biting me?
Oh no! Oh no!

I feel so itchy and I want to scratch
Like a monkey or a dog or a flea filled cat
Look at me now I’m starting to shake
Moving my hips like a big earth quake
Oh no! Oh no!

Shake you right leg, shake your left leg
Shake it up, shake it down
Spin around and around and around and around!
And do the ants in your pants dance
The ants in your pants dance
Shake you right leg, shake your left leg
Shake it up, shake it down
And do the ants in your pants dance
The ants in your pants dance

Everybody wants to dance like me
Let me tell you it’s as easy as can be
Find an anthill about so tall
And wait for those critters to creep and crawl

What I Say

Here’s a song that’s lots of fun
Because you move all around before it’s done
The rules are simple come on let’s play
All you have to do is what I say

Stand up and sit down
Stand up and turn all around
Sit down and clap your hands
Stand up, close your eyes and open them up
Now sit down and say horary!
Because you did everything that I said today

That was so much fun let’s play again
But we’ll speed it up for you and your friends
The rules are simple come on let’s play
All you have to do is what I say

CHORUS

Do you think you can do it faster then that?
I bet you can let’s try it out
The rules are simple come on let’s play
All you have to do is what I say

CHORUS

You did everything that I said today
You did everything that I said today

Reading is Magic

Let’s go on a magic trip
Open a book not of a bag of chips
Get off the couch and take a look
At all the exciting story books

Reading is magic, reading is fun!
It can cast a spell on anyone
It’s hard to put a book down before you’re done
Reading is magic, reading is fun!

There are lots of different kinds of books
Biographies, fairy tales, and cookbooks
Magical places near and far
Books about a boy with a lightning scar

CHORUS

The adventures never have to end
Share new books with all your friends
Your imagination will grow and grow
With every book you get to know

CHORUS

Learn about things you never knew before
Foreign countries, famous people, and more

First Day!

Let's kick off the school year with a celebration
"It's the first day of school today!"
Your Mom and Dad have an invitation
"It's the first day of school today!"

"It's the first day! (Hey!)
"It's the first day! (Hey!)
"It's the first day (Hey!), of school today!"
"It's the first day! (Hey!)
"It's the first day! (Hey!)
"It's the first day (Hey!), across the USA!"

Time to meet our teachers and see our rooms
"It's the first day of school today!"
We're ready to learn and watch our IQ zoom
"It's the first day of school today!"

CHORUS

Everywhere all across the Nation
"It's the first day of school today!"
Communities are getting behind our education
"It's the first day of school today!"

The Dog Ate My Homework

Oh, no, what’ll I do
When the teacher calls my name
She wants my paper that’s due today
It’s lost its missing its gone away

The Dog ate my homework (Roof! Roof!)
The Dog ate my homework (Roof! Roof!)
The Dog ate my homework (Roof! Roof!)
I’m not lying I’m telling the truth
The Dog ate my homework (Roof! Roof!)

I left it on the table and the dog came along
When I turned around I saw it was gone
I looked all around and no trace was found
I searched up and down in the trees and on the ground.

Chorus

I found it in the doghouse all chewed up
Then I knew I was out of luck
If the teacher gives my one more chance
I’ll do a wiggle-jiggle dance.

Chorus
__

I like Dinosaurs

I like Dinosaurs
I like to hear them roar
I like Dinosaurs
Because I’m very brave
I like Dinosaurs
I like to take them to the store
I like Dinosaurs
As long as they behave

I would let a dinosaur sleep in my bed
If he didn’t try to sit on my head
I would let a dinosaur watch my TV
As long as I had enough room to see

CHORUS

I would love to share my lunch one
I think that would be lots and lots of fun
It wouldn’t matter if he’s green, brown or red
It would be really cool to have dinosaur friend

CHORUS

If you listen closely you can hear them coming
Shaking the ground with their dinosaur drumming!
Watch them dance you can count them all
One, two, three and T-rex makes four
They’re not scary when they dance in fact it’s funny
As long as the T-rex doesn’t get hungry!

Keep your right arm up don’t let it drop
While we do the Jingle Hop now….STOP!

Put your left arm up
Don’t let it drop
It’s time to do the Jingle Hop!

CHORUS (left arm)

Put your right leg up

Let’s Go Writing

Let’s go writing
Six-Trait Writing
Yes, it’s exciting
Six-Trait Writing
One, two, three, four, five, Six-Traits
Use them all don’t hesitate
When you’re writing
Use Six-Trait Writing

Trait number one is where it’s begun
Every writer begins with ideas
Trait number two is important too
It’s no surprise you have to organize
Next find your voice and work on word choice
That makes four but wait there’s more!

Trait number five keeps your writing alive
It’s called sentence fluency
Trait number six is the last big fix, re-write and proof read
Conventions is the way to make good work great
And now you know all Six-Traits

Blizzard Buster

Whoosh goes the wind, flip on the tube
It’s a snow day! What shall I do?
I’ll call my friends and get ready to play
Hooray! Hooray! It’s a…
Blizzard buster day!

Should I build a snowman, go sledding or ski?
Go down to the pond and play hockey?
I got hit by a snowball but that’s ok
I’m so glad it’s a…
Blizzard buster day!

Snow day, snow day
Time to get out of the house and play
Snow day, snow day
It’s wet and cold but I like it that way, it’s a…
Blizzard buster day!

The sun’s going down, it’s getting late
There’s still so much to do, but wait…
My Mom is calling, “Come home”. I say, “No way!”
I don’t want to say good-bye to this…
Blizzard buster day!

Snow day, snow day
Time to get out of the house and play
Snow day, snow day
It’s wet and cold but I like it that way, it’s a…
Blizzard buster day!

There are just some things you can’t do in the summer
So you have wait for a blizzard buster

Snow day, snow day
Time to get out of the house and play
Snow day, snow day
It’s wet and cold but I like it that way, it’s a…
Blizzard buster day!
Blizzard buster day!
Blizzard buster day!

Bubble Trouble

Once when I was a little boy I decided not to go out and play
I wanted to help my mom with the household chores that day
I took out the garbage cans before she even knew
And she couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw me clean my room
I went to the kitchen and saw the dishes being soaked
So I loaded the dishwasher but I couldn’t find the soap
I went and got my bubble bath and poured a little in
It didn’t look like there was enough so I poured the whole box in

Then I saw, one, two three tiny bubbles
Four, five, six tiny bubbles
Seven, eight, nine tiny bubbles floating out the dishwasher door
There were ten, twenty, thirty more bubbles
Forty, fifty, sixty more bubbles
Seventy, eighty, ninety bubbles
Bubble trouble for sure!

When my mother saw the mess, she didn’t yell or scream
She knew I was trying to help her and not be mean
After we cleaned it up I brushed my teeth and went to bed
But I couldn’t count any sheep with all those bubbles in my head

I saw, one, two three tiny bubbles
Four, five, six tiny bubbles
Seven, eight, nine tiny bubbles floating out the dishwasher door
There were ten, twenty, thirty more bubbles
Forty, fifty, sixty more bubbles
Seventy, eighty, ninety bubbles
Bubble trouble for sure!
There were one hundred, two hundred, three hundred bubbles
Four hundred, five hundred, six hundred bubbles
Seven hundred, eight hundred, nine hundred bubbles, bubble trouble for sure
There were one thousand, two thousand, three thousand bubbles
Four thousand, five thousand, six thousand bubbles
Seven thousand, eight thousand, nine thousand bubbles
I’m not kidding I thought there was a million bubbles on the kitchen floor

Don’t Call Me a Bird

I have a head and a body too
Tiny eyes for seeing you
And a mouth I use to eat
A brain, two feet a heart that beats

Don’t call me a bird
Just because I have wings
Don’t call me a bird
I’m not a feathered thing
Don’t call me a bird
Don’t even try
I’m not a bird, what am I?
I’m not a bird, what am I?

You won’t find a beak on me
I have no nest up in a tree
I don’t lay eggs by the bunch
Or feed my babies worms for lunch

CHORUS

I fly at night and think its great
Using radar to echolocate
Thumbs and fur, hear me squeak
Upside down I like to sleep

CHORUS
__

Butterfly

I want to be a butterfly
So I can flap my wings and fly
And sail away in the bright blue sky
Oh, I want to be a butterfly

I’d wear a smile not a butterfly frown
With two antennas that wiggle around
Look at my wings they’re gold and they’re pink
I look pretty like this, don’t you think?

CHORUS

There’s nothing wrong with the way that I am
But it’s fun to make believe and pretend
So if you want to play this game with me
Put on your wings and fly away in my dream

CHORUS

Mister Billy Cranks It UP To Make Learning Through Songs A Blast
Mister Billy's Greatest Hits cranks up the beat and the fun! With Old Macdonald Had A Rock & Roll Band, Mister Billy takes an old traditional song and updates it to rock style, giving it new life and brining it into the 21st century for today's kids! And the music and words of Reading Is Magic are magical!

Steven Zelin

All of my favorite Mister Billy songs on one CD plus 2 new favorites! I highly recommend this Greatest Hits CD, which explodes with my favorite electrified, catchy, danceable and well written songs from the famous Mister Billy. "I Like Dinosaurs," "Reading is Magic" and "First Day" top the charts in my house. I went to a Mister Billy show in California where "Bernie the Bubble Breathing Dragon" showed up and had everyone in the audience blowing bubbles. With unbelievable guitar solos, earth shaking drums and upbeat songs with socially redeeming values, I wonder what would happen if Mister Billy did an "unplugged" album! I can't wait to find out.
