"Is that myself" is the debut album by Mr. Highway Band, a rock band based in Athens, Greece! The band's influences can be traced in the old blues tradition and the classic rock period of the 60's and the 70's, but also in the american folk and country music! All these elements are mixed in a very creative way in their songs producing a result that is fresh and close to the modern rock sound without losing its roots!
The album contains 8 songs that can be characterised by their different styles while keeping unchanged the band's identity! From explosive rock songs such as "No one can bring me down", "I'm gonna give you love", "Revolution" to more atmospheric compositions such as "Tonight today" and the Tom Waits-like "Maybe sometime" and from the hard rock style of "Overdose" to the blues feeling of "Train to North" and "Hard place"! "Is that myself" proposes a vintage aesthetics that brings back memories from past music and stylistic eras, but does this in a way full of new ideas that can attract the interest of any modern listener!
Mr. Highway Band are: Johnny Afendras (Mr. Highway) - guitars, Greg Psaltakos - vocals, Dennis Tsiounis - bass, Thimios Spiliotopoulos - guitars, Jim Tsarnos - drums!
The band is constantly touring, playing as much as possible for the promotion of their debut album, delivering shows full of energy and fun!
