ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Mr. J. is a Southern Oregon band that performs all types of music from old & new rock, to reggae, funk, blues, & originals. With the ability to transform from an acoustic show with flute & hand percussion, to full tilt boogie, dance & party music, this band can please almost all music lovers. They have played mostly in Grants Pass at G Street Bar & Grill & The Laughing Clam, Medford's Habanero's, as well as a great show at last year's Grants Pass Concerts in the Park. With a lot of energy & musical surprises, you will love every minute of a Mr. J. show. Here are the players;

"Magic" Mike Smith- Guitar & vocals: Mike's rock & blues based guitar work moves through the classics as well as newer music, reggae, & originals. Mike is also the lead vocalist, with a unique voice you won't soon forget. An Oregon Native, Mike played in southern California for a few years before settling back in southern Oregon for good.

Jack Hillman- Bass & vocals: Jack is a major reason for the Mr. J. sound. With strong 5 string bass performances & beautiful vocal harmonies, he makes the band's sound all come together. Hailing from Denver, Jack is a reformed (but still awesome) guitarist as well.

Mike Whipple- Keys, wind controller, flute, percussion, vocals: "Whipp" provides the perfect balance to the other happenings in the band. From beautiful flute melodies & hand percussion, to great keyboards, he is the ultimate all around addition to Mr. J.'s quest for "All Kinda Music". Originally from Southern Cal, Mike is also the band's producer.

Dan Weaver- Drums: Dan is the backbone & the "bottom line" for Mr. J. He is solid as a rock, and always tasty in his style. Able to leap tall musical changes in a single bound, he brings many years of road experience to keep us settled. Dan is a Grants Pass native.
