Tongue in cheek ditties, melancholy love songs, doo-wop tearjerkers, and tunes 'bout drinkin' too much. Most of these obscure songs from the 30's and 40's never made it to classics (but should have). With dreamy harmonies, a splash of the theatrical, and a lonesome guitar, Mr. Lonesome and The Bluebelles put a fun new twist on the early American songbook.
Mr. Lonesome and The Bluebelles are Karina Denike - vocals, Christie Winn - vocals / melodica and Steve Bissinger - guitar. Joining the trio on some songs are Bay Area luminaries Ralph Carney - saxophones, Michael McIntosh - piano, La Sabatina - Vibraphone, Jamin Barton - Saw, David Ewell - Bass, and Eric Garland - drums.
Recorded at Steve's house, mastered by Jeremy Goody at Megasonic Sound and produced by Mr. Lonesome and The Bluebelles.
