ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Monster in question is the sound of Dayton Ohio filtered through the senses of someone who managed to escape the Midwestern malaise just long enough to learn to appreciate its indelicate imaginative beauty. And in many ways the songs on this short album comprise a kind of long form love poem to the land of the Twightwee and the Ohio Valley experience in general. Excepting "Human" all the songs included on Monster were recorded quickly and with little or no rehearsal by M S Borders, Greg Reynolds and John Haws, longtime purveyors of Mad River rock music. Fittingly the most complex composition structurally is the only one not recorded in Ohio. "Human" came into being in Nashville, TN and features players Howard Adams, Alex Cordrey, late of Cincinnati Ohio and Engineer/Keyboardist Shane Gue, a West Virginian expat. Artwork for the album is provided by Miami Valley legend Hank Simmons.
