ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
I've met people of Irish extraction in several parts of the world who have told me how they regret that the Gaelic traditions have so often been allowed to slip away. They always urge me to continue with the sean-nós. My view is that the tradition may not have slipped quite so far that it can't be al least partially recovered with a little effort. After all the wellspring still exists in Ireland and with modern day ease of communication and travel there is every chance for people of Irish and part-Irish heritage around the world to become active participants. You migt be surprised too at the number of people with no particular Irish links who are keen to see our tradition survive. When it comes to the enjoyment of traditional music and song from any part of the world, in a country like Australia there are no boundaries.
