Album Notes
Over 5000 years ago, from the dry stretches of the not-so-fertile crescent wandered a nomadic, foul smelling people. A robust, well-endowed, and manly tribe, they were united through ancient rituals involving instruments capable of infinite fonkiness and overt sekshul innuendo. The Pharaoh, a mean mother (shutcho' mouth), hated the nomads and their ability to shred like a mofo all up in that biatch. But more than that, he hated the power of their righteous grooving to make drop the tunics of his five luscious teenage daughters.

One night, the Pharaoh found the nomads dressed as mummies and creating grooves in an effort to compromise the moral integrity of his five daughters. The angry Pharaoh cursed the nomads (already conveniently dressed as mummies) with a spell so vile, that seeing its name in print here would make your eyes melt and flow freely from their sockets. Already doomed, these nomads fled into the night, at last finding refuge in the abandoned caves of the Unleavened Jews. But when the sun rose the following morning, the Pharoah's curse had taken hold, and these were men no more.

Here come the mummies.

For years, scholars of the ancient world wondered what became of this group. Theories citing the Mummies' involvement in historical events from the Siege of Troy to the sacking of Rome, the fall of Pompeii and the sinking of Atlantis were initially scoffed at and dismissed as parlor quackery. However, in 1922, at a dig in the desert south of Tunis, Professor Nigel Quentin Fontenelle Dumblucke IV unearthed the ruins of an ancient discotheque and found a dozen stank-ass fonky mummies still all up in the act of rockin' tha hizouse.

From these mummies, Professor Dumblucke learned of the powerful curse that doomed them to wander the earth throughout eternity, seeking the ultimate riff, the one that would allow these souls to finally rest after 5000 years of banging out solid fly grooves. To quote the Professor: "In their desperate quest for immortal peace, they rocked all the ancient empires of Earth on down to the grizound. They rocked Atlantis so hard, y'all, it ain't never been found."

And now they're coming to rock your town with a funk so strong, it's gonna make all the cats explode. Strap in.

From Believe to Land 'O the King this CD delivers. Here Come The Mummies have a funk sound that will invade your body and take over your soul with a infectious sound that no matter how hard you fight, you begin to dance to the rhythm and before you know it you have become MUMMIFIED!

Ra Ra Ra!!
What a great CD from a fantastic band. Cannot wait for an Atlanta show---the Variety Playhouse is a perfect venue--let's make it happen!

Fanfunkingtastic CD and a better live act.!!
Within this well engineered disc, the Mummies absolutely destroy! Saw the band live for the first time last week in Birmingham, AL (King Tut expo black tie event), damned glad I went. The music was far more impressive than the tomb contents...

You gotta git you some-a this!
In the immortal words of Butch & the Kid...."Who ARE those guys"? I dunno, but I love their tunes! Deliciously durdy, infectious (not in the way you're used to...but in a GOOD way!) and it's got a good beat and you can really dance to it (Dick!) Mo mo mo!!! Can't wait for the next CD - when is it boys?

Best Live Group Ive Seen Live
Just saw these guys live here in Chattanooga. Im from Jacksonville, FL. and spent a few years in Seatle, and have been looking for something new. These guys are the it, although not the same style, they remind me of Sublime the 1st time I heard them . It was like "How the Fu_k havent I ever heard of these guys". Bought the CD from a guy at the show, drunk of course . The next day before I played it I thought no way it can be as good as live .. I was wrong..CD is great.Still cant believe they arent played on the radio daily. 5 Stars they guys have true soul, almost blues brother esq, in spirit.

CD Baby

A biology experiment gone wrong. Last year's Turkey Surprise still sprouting green fuzz. Leaving thumb tacks in the chairs of those girls you liked in grade school. The only person to dress up at a Halloween party, and you chose to be Stevie Wonder. Mixing up the salt with sugar and biting into a chunk of butter, thinking it's cheese. These, and other phenomenon can be interpretatively expressed in this, shall we say, wacky, witty, funky, epic rock album. A bit of disco. A bit of R&b funk. Some Latin spice. I rest my case.

Just flat out awesome!!!!!
this cd is one of the best ive ever heard. it has some of the best horns, best lyrics, best beats, the bets everything and very memorable hooks that will be stuck in your head for days. it really gets you in a good mood and can always get you movin to the beat.

This CD is awesome! The sound is great and the music keeps you moving and grooving! They are much better live, but when you need your MUMMY fix, there is nothing like the CD to help you out! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!
