ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Murphy & Middaugh are a Seattle-based duo who perform primarily Appalachian music. Orville Murphy is originally from Kentucky. Jerry Middaugh is from Ohio. These are songs of home and heartache, humor and longing. Murphy has played harmonica and sung since his Kentucky childhood in the 1930's and 1940's. Middaugh grew up near Ohio State University in the 1950's and 1960's. Much of his background is from the 'coffee house folk music' era in the 1960's. These are songs of miners, trains, the civil war, and whiskey. There's a bit of dance music here as well. We hope you like it.
