ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Rising phoenix-like from the ashes of late 90's punk-pop-pranksters NOB, Murrays Chosen Few have created a veritable tsunami of interest and excitement with the release of their' debut album 'mixed grill'.

Based in Newcastle, N.S.W, the four members of M.C.F have been longtime friends, and have come together to make a beautiful album of sweet, sweet music.

With melodies that will indelibly etch themselves into your brain from the very first listen, combined with some gritty and heartfelt suburban poetry , M.C.F have created an incredibly strong debut album that is full of surprises.

From the blistering opening strains of track 1 ,pub-rock anthem 'Check it out', to the understated tenderness of the final song 'the sweetest lullaby' , M.C.F have managed to make that rarest of beasts :- an album of light and shade, where every song doesn't sound the same as every other one.

Not afraid to actually sound like the country they live in, M.C.F have a truly unique sound, that is undeniably Australian.

Reminiscent of such notable Australian artists as The Sunnyboys, Spy v Spy, The Saints, Pollyana with a touch of the Go-Betweens, The Reels and a healthy dash of AC/DC, Murrays Chosen Few are well on the way to establishing themselves as one of the premier rock/pop/punk groups in Australia, and quite possibly, the world.

Better Than A Shrimp On The Barbie:
Murray's Chosen Few have spiced up their album, Mixed Grill, with just the right type of sauce. A great Oceanic blend that balances heat when it rocks, a saltness with some very wry commentary, the bitter twist of the lovelorn and the sweetness of songs played like they were meant to be played by people who believe in them.
With a dash of Weddings, Parties & Anything along with a sprinkle of SpyVSpy, the nouse of mid period Saints and the deft poprock of Sunnyboys this is an unashamedly Australian album through its perspective on subject matter and the natural accents of the singing.
On top of all the above it's FUN!
Do yourselves a flavour!
