The Talented Johnette
The talented Johnette Napolitano never ceases to amaze me. Finally .. I have my hands on the long awaited Sketchbook 3. I just can't stop listening to it. I am so enthralled in this newest creation. Thank you Johnette, and all who co-created this beautiful CD.

Beautiful piece of art
Johnette never lets me down. Another great piece of artistic beauty. "Silvertone mix" is one of my favorites. "Considering" is a freaking masterpiece! I particularly love "Eye"...it's an amazing track that really takes me away. Johnette is perhaps the most underrated, unknown singer/songwriter that ever walked the planet. And Sketchbook 3 is another mesmerizing example of her unique sound that she brings that didn't exist before!! If you have to think about it before purchasing this cd, then you don't get it. Love you Johnette.

Song For A Solidier (feat. Laurie Sargent
Song For A Soldier should be required of all high-school students prior to graduating. I can't think of another song that perfectly captured the absolute hell of the GW Bush presidency. Or as once described by now Secretary of State, John Kerry, "What a buch of right wing nut jobs!" Focus on the third verse, ....this is a song for you sinners sending our mothers & fathers to war............. Get the song from the cd or download. Not the one that can be found on Youtube. This is important. In this case a single song lifts an album from 3 stars to 5 stars. Yes. It really is that good. Johnette is and always will be the most beautifully honest singer - songwriter - bass player - artist of our time.

Long awaited...and no let down!
As with every album the awe inspiring Johnette puts out, there is nothing contrived, nothing left to be desired. As always, it is honest, and provokes every range of emotion...from cursing the bastards eating dinner while our soldiers are giving their lives, to strumming through a cool little break-up song with the "your loss, dude" attitude we know and love her for. She never ceases to amaze me, and this is no exception. Get it. Today. It made my year!

Good stuff

Sketchbook 3

You may know Johnette Napolitano from her long career with Concrete Blonde, or from her work with The Heads, or from her own prolific solo career. Whatever the situation, she’s never stopped making interesting music. The Sketchbook series are demos, ideas, and various recorded experiments. From the lovely layered, haunting vocal of Good Vocal Chorus to the PJ Harvey-style melancholia of I'm a Wire, Napolitano's latest Sketchbook release is entirely engaging.
