Album Notes
Narciso Saúl

Music of Argentina

guitarist, singer, composer, conductor, arranger

Singular guitarist and singer, he interprets tangos, milongas and Argentine folk music as well as his own compositions (World Music).
Influenced by the great modern tango creators, his music is close to jazz and improvisation, and it also explores the milonga, milonga-candombe, zamba and chacarera, Argentine rhythms stemming from African music.
After many years of touring with different ensembles, he started his solo career in 2002. At the moment he plays in different countries across Europe where he also joins in duos, trios and ensembles to play his own arrangements for bandoneon, violin, flute, double bass and percussion.

Armando Baltra

Great Argentinian Guitar Music
I knew nothing about Narciso Saul until I heard Victor Villadangos playing Boulevard San Jorge. Saul's compositions are truly evocative, wild and totally Argentinian. His milongas are really modern but still well within the genre. I enjoyed the musicians that play with him in some of the tracks. If I had to be picky, I would say that his guitar tends to sound too metallic at times (too many buzzes?), but he more than compensates with his exhilarating spirit. I would love to hear Saul playing Boulevad San Jorge!!

excellent playing and excellent music selections
Flawless guitar playing and selections that I have some music scores for.
