ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Next Train Home CD by Nate b is my sophmore project and I am really proud of all who were involved. Gee Davis is a bandmate of many years and we collectively put our hearts and soul into the tracks that we worked on together. Just as before, I will never deviate from keeping things clean in terms of lyrics. In order for me to reach the masses in a positive way, I have to express stories that reflect todays society. I believe that music should invoke all kinds of feelings. Even sometimes, feelings of great sadness e.g. my track "What Would You Do" which has a dark tone to it but the story was created from a sad experience from a nightmare that woke me up in tears. Without giving the story away, the song was to invoke thoughts of how do we really want to live our lives all the time and not just when something traumatic happens. I love all music but I am very selective when it comes to lyrics. You can take a beat and hype it, loop it, orchestate it make it pleasant to listen to but once you choose to add lyrics it should have something meaningful to say and if the mission was to be a commercial track, a have fun track, that's cool to, mission complete. Just as you are what you eat, your instrument never lies. I will always do my best and try to reflect love but no one is perfect. It was expressed to me many moons ago, that if you really want to do something special, you have to be true to your art and your gift. My goal is not to pigeon hole my work to any particular group for marketing. I'll leave that to the industry. I just tryo to make it enjoyable for whoever I can. I do know that the heart is a very special muscle and I have no intentions on being a heart breaker by soliciting something that is negative or even detrimental to improving our society. I hope people will enjoy my interpretation of feel good music.
