ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Nate Najar is one of the few guitarists who choose to play the unamplified classical guitar. It is an intimate sound but one with a great deal of dynamics and range of expression.

John Lamb is one of the finest examples of a real swinging bass player. A contemporary of Ray Brown and Charles Mingus and influenced by the tradition of Jimmy Blanton and Oscar Pettiford, John held the bass chair in Duke Ellington's band during that great revival of Duke's music in 1964-1968.

"So What's New" is a relaxed, delicately swinging session that shows the great rapport between these two musicians.
