Album Notes
Listening through the wind- Yeriwenhawi Niuskwas is Shendaehwas Nathalie Picard's first original CD. She is a professionnal latin jazz flautist and native flute player, composer, storyteller and singer. She is a tribal member (turtle clan) of the Huron-wendat tribe. She gets most of her inspiration from her connection with nature and her iroquoian ancestry, filling her own musical universe with the sounds of traditionnal Native American Indian instruments like drums, rattles, wooden and bone flutes, whistles, and different instruments that imitates nature sounds like a moose bone whistle for the wind, ocean drum, etc.
Like her ancestors, she believes that everything is connected together in the Circle of Life on this mother earth...
While she was recording this album, she received a special gift in connecting with a four-legged being with her flute and being able to capture this magical moment. She received this sharing as a unique gift and is offering it to you on Track 1 of her CD, presenting to you in her own original way, the interconnection of all living being. Nathalie's unique instrumental music will transport you in an ancestral land where man and nature knew how to breathe as One in the Sacred Circle of the Great Mystery. Tho ïohtih!
