Album Notes
This Galactic songstress has done it again, but on her own creative terms! Debuting her solo EP "Rebirthed Above Ground", Navasha Daya is further establishing herself as a classic songwriter, producer and vocalist.

This EP offers soulful songs with a touch of jazz and world influences and is a natural transition from her compositions as front woman and co-founder of the band Fertile Ground. Absolutely stunning solo debut EP from world-renowned soul jazz vocalist Navasha Daya!

Recorded with total live instrumentation (with the exception of synth strings) by a host of remarkable musicians, Navasha Daya’s EP, “Rebirthed Above Ground” was written, composed, arranged, and produced by Navasha Daya herself.

From Indie Spirit by Stevie Robinson
Her first solo project starts with “Iwapele” meaning gentle character taken from the Holy African scripture of the Yoruba. A smooth groove that will have you swaying and rocking your neck (that’s right I said your neck) to the music. “Galactic Soul” tells Daya’s story it’s her anthem song. At first listen to “Prelude to a Kiss” I was filled with the joy, hearing this song. And it will surely be known as a classic. It’s that beautiful. It flows right into jazzy smooth flowing “Sweet Kiss. The EP ends with a heavy guitar rock number called “Life Windows” which has you rocking your head and singing out loud or at least that’s what it has me doing. This debut EP will leave you wanting more.
