Neil Nathan's folky lullaby version of the timeless Christmas Classic, "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town," is the follow up single to his cover of ELO and The Move's "Do Ya," featured on the Californication Season 2 Soundtrack. It has received extensive radio and video play, most notably on Sirius/XM's The Coffeehouse and Fuse on Demand. The two covers are stylistically similar in their sparse fingerpicked acoustic guitar and intimate vocal approach. Neil's forthcoming debut album, "The Distance Calls," features musicians from The Dead Weather, Queens of The Stone Age, Kid Rock, Detroit Cobras, and The Go.
On the "Do Ya" Video,
Nathan’s voice, a combination of rock and soul, is full of longing on this revamped romanticized piece.
On the forthcoming The Distance Calls,
"Drop the need anyplace on the record and find yourself soaking in a well crafted song. Perfectly balanced rock and soul." - The Ripple Effect
"One of this year's truly great rock records. The tunes are so sugary, they would give Matthew Sweet a toothache." - Snob's Music
“Wow, this is really good. Like a mellow Steve Marriott.”
MOJO, NME, Creem, Rolling Stone
On Motor City Recordings,
