ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Like the wonders of the ancient world, songwriting has opened up a wonderful new world for Laureen. Often constrained by director’s visions and other’s demands, now Laureen is free to sing what she desires and in the manner she chooses. This freedom of expression shines through on her unique first CD Free Again. Combining a rich romantic tapestry of thought-provoking lyrics and sensual accompaniments, the songs are beautifully artful and provocative. “I’ve always been attracted to haunting, thoughtful music. Perhaps it is the Hungarian in me.” Perhaps it is the slightly haunting and gentle way in which Laureen blends pop-art songs and classical styles that make this CD so refreshingly original. Listeners will love the vocal purity and honesty which lend themselves to her inimitable style. Music is sustenance for the soul and Free Again proves to be just that!

Laureen Niamesny is a talented young woman! I first saw her in Branson, Missouri appearing as a lead in the show entitled, “Broadway.” As I result, I purchased her “Free Again” CD. It appears she wrote the music and lyrics for this multi-faceted work. It’s a sampler of different styles of music and singing. She opens with a steady Latin-style piece named “Remembrance “which is very catchy and follows it up with a playful tune she calls the “Man Behind the Scenes.” Then she sings“Free Again” which, in my mind, is a sensitive love song capable of major airplay. I absolutely love it! “Champagne Strings” is yet another lovely and sensual love song – the lyrics are poetic and leave me yearning to know the woman of whom she writes.

Then she turns out an almost folksy Dan Fogelberg-like song called, “Stop, Wait and Listen.” She’s a storyteller.......

Then there are songs that could easily have been from Broadway musicals. One such piece is “Wedding Day” which is an interesting and haunting song; and, I could envision her singing. “Sanctify” in a major musical. “Sanctify” emphasizes her “broadway” voice where she yearns to “make love to your mind.”

Then, if her abilites had not yet been fully demonstrated, she shows off her range and beautiful voice in Adagio and Le cri d’un Loup which are more operatic, almost Phantom of the Opera-esque.

To me, Laureen is a bit Sarah Brightman, with a dose of Celine Dion thrown in. She is more than capable handling a lead role on Broadway. This CD demonstrates the many capabilities of her absolutely beautiful voice and offers a hint at what must be a playful and romantic personality. I have especially enjoyed listening to her work while drifting down the Mississippi River in my boat on a lazy Saturday evening. I look forward to more from her. I have a full appreciation for her poetic lyricism and the quality and range of her beautiful voice is phenomenal.

She is incredibly gifted. I love her voice and the musical arrangement is sympho
Great arrangement and God given voice. She should be in a larger stage. Tracks 4-7 had technical challenges. I replayed them and they seem to have self corrected.
Does she have other cds? I also really like CD Baby and its prompt, funny and professional service. I will refer you and artists also.
