Ed Blomquist and Jim Whisenant have been collaborating on recording unusual music since the early 90s. Both are multi-instrumentalists. Between the two of them, they perform on electric and acoustic guitars, electric and upright basses, cello, oud, Chapman Stick, keyboards, analog synth, samplers, iOS devices, hand percussion, and various flutes, as well as programming and producing with Ableton Live.
Growing up in the 70s, they were drawn to progressive rock, outsider jazz, electronic and world music. Motivated by a shared desire to make music that they wanted to hear and to take the journey they wanted to experience, they have steadfastly avoided conforming to any standard other than their own inspiration.
On "alien architecture," they are happy to be joined on the track "another orbit, please" by Jim's niece, Jacki Whisenant, improvising on the harp.
